What Is The Proposed Bike Route Through Indianola?
  • Riders will travel east on Highway 92, turning left (north) onto Kenwood Boulevard
  • From Kenwood Boulevard, riders will continue until turning right (east) onto West Euclid Avenue
  • From West Euclid Avenue, riders will continue turning right (south) onto North G Street
  • From North G Street, riders will continue until turning left (east) onto West Clinton Avenue
  • From West Clinton Avenue, riders will continue until turning right (south) onto North Buxton Street, arriving at the Indianola Downtown Square
  • From North Buxton Street, riders will continue until turning left (east) onto West 4th Avenue
  • From West 4th Avenue, riders will continue until turning right (north) onto Highway 65/69

What If My House Is On The RAGBRAI Route?

Streets along the route will be barricaded and blocked off, likely beginning as early as 5 a.m. Wednesday, July 24. Law enforcement and volunteers will be at barricades to assist drivers on or through the route.

The Indianola RAGBRAI Planning Committee recommends people living on the route to plan to leave their cars outside the route and walk home or to their vehicle.

There will be no parking on the route; violators will be ticketed/towed at the owner’s expense. Temporary no parking signs will be placed along the RAGBRAI route by the Indianola Police Department beginning at approximately noon Tuesday, July 23.

How Do I Get Around Town On July 24?

Be patient, advise local law enforcement. With more than 10,000 extra people in town, traffic will be moving more slowly than usual. It will take longer to get to your destinations.

When Will Things Get Busy Due To RAGBRAI?

The Indianola RAGBRAI Planning Committee expects riders and spectators to arrive sporadically throughout the day, as early as 5 a.m. and a majority between 7-11 a.m.

Activity is expected to calm around 2 p.m.

Will Emergency Services Be Available?

Emergency and medical services will be available for RAGBRAI participants and community members. At RAGBRAI specifically, the Indianola Police Department will have officers stationed across the route, and the Indianola Fire Department will have tents set up at the Indianola Downtown Square and will be roving the area.

Can I Be A Volunteer For RAGBRAI In Indianola?

Absolutely! It takes a village to make an event like this happen.
