Annett Nature Center
Nature is never-ending at Annett Nature Center and Park! 160 acres offer hours of outdoor exploration and family fun. Hike, fish, kayak and more! Head inside the nature center to learn more about Warren County wildlife.
Go wild in the wilderness!
Visit the Annett Nature Center and Park just four miles south of town. More than 160 acres are waiting to be explored, including a six-acre pond and 10-acre wetland. Outdoor activities include a butterfly garden, trails for hiking and biking, and a 30-ft. observation deck overlooking it all! Inside the nature center, you’ll find a two-level museum of local wildlife displays and cool exhibits!
A seven-mile network of hiking trails lets you see the very best of the park. Be sure to take the primary trail down into the forest, through the wetlands, across a rugged wood bridge to the observation tower, where you can see for miles! When the snow flies, the park becomes a winter wonderland to explore on snowshoes or cross-country skis.
This is the place for acres of fun!
Look no farther for watery adventure! Kayak, canoe or paddleboard on Lester Pond. The pond is a perfect spot to cast your line for some large mouth bass. There are plenty of panfish and catfish too.
Forest therapy? It’s a real thing. It’s called Shinrin-yoku. A gentle three-hour guided walk connects you with nature, engaging all your senses. And the benefits are many, including lowered blood pressure, decreased anxiety, and increased focus.
Curious kiddos will love Annett Nature Center and Park! Take them geocaching. Use a GPS-enabled device to locate 25 different geocaches (containers) along the trail. Find each one, open it, and collect the trading card inside. Or take a Storywalk®! Find a nature-themed children’s book tucked along the hiking trails. Read while you wander! There are so many seasonal activities too, like a Halloween hike, winter Owl Prowl, as well as summertime day camps and Kids’ Fish Day!
